Kick back day

Normally on the first Sunday of the month Grandma Skip* and I volunteer at the community breakfast over at the senior center... normally! However, it was determined a few years ago that July is not a particularly good month to conduct an event such as the breakfast because of the Independence Day holiday. First, many of the folks who regularly attend have other plans that don't include even being in town and then there's the issue of finding enough volunteers to get the job done, Grandma Skip and I being among the culprits who are away many of those occasions. And finally, there's the issue of the person who is most responsible for the breakfast and also makes a regular trek to Newport, Oregon each July to go salmon fishing.
